Television commercials for home entertainment equipment including colour television sets; stereo equipment; pianos; and cassette recorders. The commercials are: True North, for 3M Company cassettes; Bus and Solid State, for Hitachi home entertainment products; Beautiful Stereo, for Electrohome stereos, Mexican Boy, for Electrohome stereos and other products. Graphics, for Phillips cassette recorders; two items, one in colour and the other in black-and-white, entitled Women, for Sylvania, colour television sets; Factory, for Clairtone televisions; New York for Clairtone colour TVs; two items, Cabinet and Kids, for Electrohome stereos; The Quiet One, for Fleetwood stereos; items called Ballad and Faithful, for Ford-Philco stereo-TVs; Hip Thing, for Phillips cassette recorders; Paint by No. and Emmy, for Phillips colour televisions; Apollo, for Westinghouse colour televisions; Chris Yaneff, for Heitzman pianos, and Artie -- Animated, for Phillips stereos. Commercials were entries in the English National Commercial Category at Canadian Television Commercials Festivals (the Bessies) between 1966 and 1972. <16mn>

George, 1974 Dalhousie, pgs. 86-87). In 1972 the firm ceased operations and in 1973 its shares were de-listed from the Toronto Stock Exchange. The vacant factory was auctioned by the Nova Scotia Development Department in 1973 Globe & Mail, April 17, 1973, pg. B15 "Clairtone Auction".
