Collection search - World War II war crimes files from the Department of Justice [multiple media]

Accession consists of records created and/or maintained by Justice Canada's War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity Section.

Volumes 6055 to 6070 contain documents relating to investigations and legal proceedings against individuals who were identified as potential war criminals by the Commission of Enquiry on War Criminals (1985), also known as the Deschênes Commission.

The documents in this accession include, but are not limited to, investigation reports, listings (e.g., witnesses, suspects), correspondence, memoranda, translation of documents, immigration and citizenship documents, historical documents, witness statements, affidavits, exhibits, transcripts of taped interviews. This accession also contains photographs, videocassettes, and audio cassettes.
