Formed for charitable, patriotic and entertainment purposes by a Mrs. Grey, whose husband was away fighting, the Juveniles consisted of six Grey children and Wright. The children performed a variety show to mobilized troops and in troop camps in Canada. They continued to tour until the influenza epidemic of 1919. Next a man called Wallace Graham booked them for 10 months in 1920 and 1921. The Canadian Juvenile's tour experience is described, including their rate of pay and the presence of their governess. After his career with the Juveniles, Wright continued to perform, and he describes his seasons with the Winnipeg Permanent Players the Dominion Theatre and Regina's Grand theatre. He also describes competition with the movies and the effect of "talkies" on the theatre.Language:EnglishNotes:Detailed holdings information: -
