The accession consists of photographic material related to Ukrainian Canadian community and the career of Wladimir Kossar in the affairs and activities of Ukrainians in Canada and to some extent United States during the years ca. 1929 to 1963.
Material on the Ukrainian National Federation (YHO) includes meetings and cultural events in Saskatoon, Kirkland Lake, Toronto, Winnipeg and St. Boniface, dated 1935, 1942, 1943, 1948, 1949, 1952 and 1953; group photos of Ukrainian National and Youth Federation Conventions in Winnipeg (1941, 1950), Toronto (1938, 1945, 1951, 1954), Saskatoon (1939) and Vancouver (1949); exterior façade photos of Ukrainian National Federation buildings in Saskatoon (1932-33), Kirkland Lake (1940), Edmonton (1940), Winnipeg and St. Boniface (both 1949), Toronto and Montreal (both 1951), and Ukrainian church in St. Catharines (1951).
Material on the Ukrainian Canadian Committee (KYK) includes the Anniversary of Ukrainian Settlement in Canada, Winnipeg (1951); group photos of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress of 1943, 1946, 1952, 1956 and 1962 in Toronto and Winnipeg; Prime Minister Louis St. Laurent addressing the 4th Ukrainian Canadian Congress, Winnipeg (1953); Ukrainian Canadian Committee Members with Prime Minister John G. Diefenbaker during their official visit to Ottawa (1958); photos of Taras Shevchenko Centenary Celebrations with Prime Minister J.G. Diefenbaker present, Winnipeg (1961).
Material on the Ukrainian National Association (YHC) includes photos of its auditors incl. W. Kossar (1958 and 1963); various events, meetings and conferences in New York, Royal Alexandra Hotel (?) and Toronto (1962); 4th Conference of Ukrainians of American Descent, Washington, DC (1949); and 23rd Convention of Ukrainian National Association, Washington, DC (1954).
Material on the Higher Education Course (BOK) includes photos of students, staff and various events in Toronto (1940) and Winnipeg (1943-1945, 1949, 1951, 1952, 1954).
Also included are group photos of events in Winnipeg (1929-1931, 1951, 1952), Rama, Sask. (1941), Saskatoon (1934), New York (1960), Ukrainian Congress Committee of America meeting, New York (1951); Ukrainian Canadian choir, Montreal, and Ukrainian National Youth Federation choir (1947), National Ukrainian Choir, Prof. Iwan Kowaliw conducting (1949).
