Description:

This film pairs footage of Inco mining, smelting, and refining operations with the voice-over reminiscences and opinions of Inco employees. They address such issues as working conditionsat Inco and in other mines and companies, and their improvement; pride in the company; opportunities for advancement; Inco's environmental consciousness and investment; and the company's economic prospects. Speculations about mining deep under the earth, in outer space, and under water are illustrated with drawings of miners in futuristic gear. Footage also shows children playing in a Copper Cliff park reclaimed from tailings and scenes of the June 17, 1971 Quarter Century Club banquet and medal presentations. The film begins with clips of archival footage. <30mn>

1. The title is from the the first title card to appear in the film. It is not certain that this is the title proper. Other possible titles: [INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS] and [QUARTER CENTURY CLUB FILM], both from the film cannister; and [YESTERDAY, TODAY AND TOMORROW] or [THE INCO QUARTER CENTURY CLUB RECOGNITION OF 25 YEARS SERVICE], both from title cards in the film.~2. Not released for general distribution.~3. The archival footage is from MINING AND SMELTING CANADIAN NICKEL (1918 ?).~4. CMS was located at 672 Bay Street, Toronto, Ontario, and appears to have been Karol Ike's company.
