Anxious about their times, a couple of filmmakers, now parents, wonder how to tell their children about life. What is extraordinary about life? What do they want to leave them above all else? Armed with their camera, they decide to plunge into their own world, where every little gesture is extraordinary, and everything remains to be told. Little Beatrice - who doesn't want to grow up - opens wide the door to her imagination. Her older brother Émile, who is learning to read and write, questions the meaning of life and takes an interest in his father's camera. Combining cinéma-vérité at a child's level, observational camerawork and poetic narrative treatment, this cinematic journey, shot over more than four years, prompts us to reflect.
