Typewritten, verso : A delegation from the North-South Youth Assembly, accompanied by Gerard Pelletier, Canada's UN Ambassador, met late this afternoon with Secretary-General Kurt Waldheim at United Nations Headquarters. The Assembly, running last August 30 - September 4 in Montreal, involved some 250 young people from 60 developed and developing countries. It dealt with the full range of issues in the current North/South Dialogue, passing seventy-five resolutions on such matters as food, world resources, and work opportunities and trade. These, together with a complete background on the Assembly, were reported to the Secretary-General today by the Assembly's Co-Presidents. // Seen at the meeting today are, from left, Jean Ripert, Under-Secretary-General for International Economic and Social Affairs; Robert Vokey, Vice-President, Organizing Committee for the North/South Youth Assembly; Jacques Hebert, President, Organizing Committee for the North/South Assembly; Reena Varma, Acting Co-President, North/South Youth Assembly; Michael Hope Simpson, Co-President, North/South Youth Assembly; Secretary-General Kurt Waldheim; Gerard Pelletier, Canada's Ambassador to the UN; Pierre Brodeur, Executive Director, Organizing Committee for the North/South Assembly; and Margaret Ford, Second Secretary, Canadian Mission to the UN.
