Rosen, David, 1955- : David Rosen was born in Montreal in 1955. He began cartooning at the age of 15 for a short-lived underground Montreal newspaper, Logos. From 1974 to 1977 he created cartoons for The Georgia Strait (Vancouver), Berkley Barb (Berkley California), and the student newspaper McGill Daily. In the early 1980s, Rosen created freelance cartoons for alternative magazines in Montreal (Blow Up (1982) and Open City (1984)), Saskatoon (The Briarpatch (1983-1984)), and in Ottawa (Goodwin (1985)). He also produced works for the small circulation magazines This Magazine, The Canadian Forum, and the syndicate Union Art Service. He has worked as the Canadian editor for Target, a US publication devoted to political cartooning (and contributed several article for the publication), edited the anthology Megatoons: Cartoonists Against Nuclear War (1984), and served as editorial cartoonist for the Montreal Sunday Express (a Quebecor newspaper) (1984-85), the Sherbrooke Record (1985-ca. 1987), and for the Montreal alternative weekly newpapers, Hour (1993-2002), and Mirror (2002-2012). In 1996 he created The Quebec Neverendum Colouring and Activity Book. His works have been featured in numerous issues of Portfoolio, a round-up of the year's best editorial cartoons (1985, 1986 1994-2001, 2003-2006, 2010-2011). Rosen retired from cartooning in 2012.

Rosen has also worked as a radio producer, writer-broadcaster and freelance producer for CBC radio, and as a stand-up comic (1990-1995).
