Series consists of textual documents that document the activities of The Fitness Institute, a state of the art athletic complex founded by Lloyd Percival in 1963 that featured computerized equipment and served to train high-level athletes (e.g. Gordie Howe, George Knudsen, and George Chuvalo) as well as members of the wider community through individualized training and fitness programs. Records include administrative files, an architectural drawing of the building layout, correspondence, bulletins and newsletters, promotional material, articles, athletic testing and evaluation charts, various training programs, and personal notes.

Also included are not only photographs of The Fitness Institute itself, its computerized equipment, and testing labs, but also of its administrative staff and member clients.

There are also official crests of The Fitness Institute that are part of the material in this series.
