The series pertains to the activities of Gilles Beaugrand's silversmith workshop between 1943 and 2006.

It mainly contains the contracts received by Gilles Beaugrand's workshop as well as the drawings designed for the manufacture of the objects ordered. It also contains photographs of silversmith's objects produced by the Gilles Beaugrand workshop. Finally, it contains correspondence and administrative files.

The contracts and drawings of Gilles Beaugrand kept by Desmarais and Robitaille relate, with a few rare exceptions, to orders for religious articles. These are essentially drawings for chalices and patens, but there are also drawings for the production of other religious articles, such as ewers, bulbs, holy water fonts, cruets, candlesticks, ciboriums, crosses, croziers, censers , monstrances, tabernacles and other objects used in the ceremonies of Christian worship. There are also some drawings of non-religious objects.
