Non pas que le canadien n'aime pas danser. Au contraire.On n'a qu'à penser à la "veillée" qui au son du violon, faisait oublier à ces rudes paysans ou marins, les travaux de la journée. L'église, cependant, avait tendance à voir la danse comme une dangereuse occasion de débauches et de corruption. Mais, pour le québécois, il appel du "violoneux" était plus irrésistible que celui du cure. Jean Marc Papineau, notre reporter, a rencontré Simone Voyer qui a effectué de longues recherches sur le sujet, et lui a demandé de lui expliquer l'origine des danses les plus courantes de la société traditionnelle québécoise.
