Photograph depicting a course in home nursing, part of a Leadership Training Course held at the Manitoba Technical Institute in Winnipeg from July 21 to August 15, 1958. The course was for both First Nations and Métis and was sponsored jointly by the Welfare Council of Greater Winnipeg, local church groups and the Indian Affairs Branch. From left to right: Mildred Letender, of Fairford; Mrs. Margaret Balfour, of Norway House; Dorothy Einarson, a Métis from Anama Bay; Olive Lavallee, a Métis from Duck Bay; Mrs. Jerome Caribou, from Pukatawagan; Eileen Letender, from Fairford; Mrs. Rayner, a nurse from the Indian Health Services, instructor; Miss Josephine Ryle, of the Lake St. Martin First Nation at Gypsumville, Manitoba; Eliza Eagle, of Timberton; and Lillian Berens, of Berens River.
