He explains that globalism, which was said to be inevitable, is not progressing as was predicted, but rather is collapsing. He points to and elaborates on numerous events and trends that support this idea, and suggests that if people read the papers and listen to the news with the idea that globalism is not inevitable in mind, they will see that in fact nationalism, war, and rising fear are becoming more dominant than economic globalization. Particularly in recent years, he notes, there has been a return of negative nationalism and racism.
