This sub-sub-series spans 1982-1984 and includes the Minister's files during the time that he was Minister of State for External Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister. These files are essentially Allan J. MacEachen's files that were overseen and filed by Pearl Hunter as his office administrator. Most of the files were created by another staff member in the Minister's office for the Minister or by persons either in his department or from another government department. These documents are essentially the Minister's working files. The files include the Minister's schedule, speeches, memoranda, notes for meetings that he attended and briefings on upcoming meetings. There are annotated documents throughout.

Unlike the other staff series, Pearl Hunter is the keeper and not necessarily the creator of the material.
