While the occasional file falls outside of the date range for Allan J. MacEachen's period as the Minister of Finance, this sub-sub-series contains material that otherwise is exclusively related to Perl Hunter's management of his Minister of Finance Office files. The files reflects MacEachen's responsibilities as the Minister of Finance, including files on committees, agendas, memoranda and correspondence, legislation, briefings, speeches, communiqués and Questions and Answers developed for the Minister. Not surprisingly, there is also a great deal of information on the budget and budgeting. In this latter context there are briefs, drafts, expenditure reports, documents related to fiscal planning, the National Energy Program, interest rates and reports from the International Monetary Fund.
