The series documents Katharina Nikolaievna Pletschikova (1901-1973), the wife of Eric Reford.

This series consists almost exclusively of personal correspondence. Many of the early letters are all in Swedish. However, the major focus of the surviving letters are to Eric and other members of the Reford family. This series also includes subject and chronological files. The photographs document family members.

Pletschikova, Katharina Nikolaievna, 1901-1973 : Katharina Nikolaievna Pletschikova (10 December 1901 - 31 January 1973) was born in Fredrikshamn, (Hamina), Finland, the daughter of a Russian merchant, Nikolai Pletschikoff (1870-1914) and Karolina Viktorina Zetterberg (1875-1901). Her mother was a member of a Finnish family of Swedish extraction. Katarina came to Montréal and Eric Reford met her at a wedding reception in 1926; they married in 1927.
