This series documents the Right Honourable Herb Gray's career as a parliamentarian, representing the Liberal Party in the constituencies of Essex West, from 1962 to 1968, and Windsor West, from 1968 to 2002. With nearly 40 years of service as a Member of Parliament, Mr. Gray is honoured as the longest continuously serving Member of Parliament in Canadian history.

Material primarily relates to Mr. Gray's activities as a Member of Parliament in the Official Opposition, from 1984 to 1993, but also includes documentation relating to his activities as a Cabinet Member and as a significant member of the Liberal Party of Canada. Topics reflect Mr. Gray's connection and advocacy for Windsor and Southern Ontario, and his long-standing interest in immigration, foreign investment, auto manufacturing, economic development, and income support programs.

Records include correspondence, memoranda, briefings, minutes, speeches, clippings and other textual records.
