The accession consists of records created and/or maintained by the Northwest District Office of Indian and Northern Affairs Canada, and its predecessors. Predecessors include: the Terrace District Office and Agency.

The accession includes, but is not limited to records relating to: welfare equipment and supplies, including relief food assistance; law enforcement, including taxation; economic development, including Indian Economic Development Fund loans and/or guaranteed loans; placement of labour, including relocation to employment, employment training aids, seasonal and casual employment, and employment on special projects; reports and returns, including regional monthly returns, vocational and professional programs; education, including school committees on reserves, kindergarten classes, and band training; welfare, including funerals, family allowance, and Work Opportunity Program.
