Item consists of a black leather-bound diary with an interior title as follows: "The American Diary for 1852, For Conveniently and Systematically Registering Memoranda and Events; Being an Indispensible Pocket Companion and Reference Book for Business and Professional Men, Housekeepers, Travellers, and All Others", New York, Cornnish, Lamport, and Co. 267 Pearl Street, Corner of Fulton.

Title page is stamped with "Sir Sandford Fleming."

Sticker pasted into interior upper left hand corner with the following information: A.H. Armour and Co., Booksellers Etc., King Street, Toronto.

Diary contains sporadic handwritten notes for the first half of 1852, and somewhat more detailed entries Sept-Nov 1852.

Fleming appears to have used two diaries in 1852. Please refer to Diary - 1852 A for further entries.
