Collection search - Saskatchewan Regional Office, Social Assistance and Band Fund Files [textual record]

This accession consists of routine financial records of transactions relating to social assistance and the expenditure of band funds in the district office, for responsibility codes 671, 672, 673, 674, 675, 676. The social assistance records are arranged chronologically by month and consist of coding and consolidation sheets itemizing monthly cash payments to various payees (e.g., foster parents, students, bus drivers). The band fund records are arranged by band and consist of requisitions for cheques, copies of band council resolutions approving the expenditure of band funds and memoranda from the department authorizing the expenditure.

These records were originally housed in Edmonton, but were later transferred to British Columbia. They were transferred again in 2016 and are now located in the National Capital Region and are available for consultation there.
