This file comprises the photograph album of Irene Spry's mother, Amelia Bagshaw Biss (nee Johnstone), for the years 1904 to 1907. In addition to 108 prints in the album, it also included 20 loose prints and three loose pages (with 27 prints) removed from another album, possibly belonging to the Johnstone family, and mostly dating from 1899 to 1904. The album includes photographs of the wedding of Amelia Johnstone and Evan E. Biss, December 1904; their honeymoon in Kroonstad, in the Orange Free State; Valsch River; Pretoria Zoo; their homes in Standerton, Transvaal; the Standerton Government School; General Botha at the Standerton Government School, 1906; locusts in Transvaal; Lena Marais; two cars, captioned "Early motoring difficulties in the Transvaal, Mr. Lucas's two cars in trouble at Rowallan", 1907; Evan Biss bedridden with enteric; floods on the Vaal River, March 1907; and flooding at Standerton.
