Collection search - Correspondence files and log books of Vancouver Port Corporation [textual record]

This accession consists of a variety of records created by the various agencies responsible for, over time, the operation of the Port of Vancouver. The accession includes such documents as contract files, information on tariffs, a consultant's study of options for a third Burrand Inlet crossing, a series of general correspondence files (including such subjects as Containerization, Leases, Property, Boundaries, etc.), a copy of the 1931-1932 National Ports Survey by Alexander Gibb, the Appeal and Exhibit books related to the 1916 expropriation of the Kitsilano Indian Reserve, as well as court documents from 1905 concerning CPR right of ways.
In addition to the above documents, this accession also includes the original bound minute books of the Vancouver Harbour Commissioners (1913 to 1935), extracts taken from the minutes of the National Harbours Board that relate to operations in Vancouver, as well as several of the Harbour Master's Log Books.

These records were originally held in British Columbia. They were transferred to the National Capital Region in 2016 and are available for consultation there.
