Members of the National Film Television and Sound Archive at the Rockliffe nitrate facility. The film begins with a shot of a can of nitrate film (another shot is overexposed). Close up of hands (Bill Galloway) unravelling a roll of heavily deteriorated nitrate film. Shot of a film can with a label that reads "End of the Road". Shot of the deteriorating reels of nitrate inside, gelling and covered in dust. The reel is removed and the dust shook out. Close up of the film on the reel (gelling). Andris Kesteris is shown briefly attempting to light a match. Shot of Bill Galloway as he lights a nitrate film resting in a can. The ensuing fire flares for about 20 seconds before the nitrate film is spent.Close up of the charred remains. Long shot of the Rockliffe nitrate facility with Bill Galloway and a parked car.
