This sub-series documents the activities of staff at the parliamentary affairs and appointments unit of the Prime Minister's Office while Paul Martin was Prime Minister, in 2005 and 2006, in particular the activities of deputy chief of staff Ruth Thorkelson and director of appointments Karen Martin. The main function of the parliamentary affairs and appointments unit is to advise the Prime Minister on political strategy and to make recommendations for the appointments under the authority of the Prime Minister's Office.

The sub-series contains electronic documents that were found on employees' personal drives and on the shared drive of this unit of the Prime Minister's Office, as well as some employees' emails (256 emails in total) and electronic agendas.

Arrangement note:

The archivists maintained the original file arrangement during processing.

The emails boxes and the electronic agendas (Outlook calendars) were entirely kept. No selection or reorganization was done to the PST files.
