This accession contains the administrative files of the Ontario CEIC office in Guelph. The files cover CEIC policies, procedures and correspondence and relate to general administrative concerns as well as the management of finance, personnel, and CEIC (employment development) programs. Most of the material is in the form of CEIC forms, invoices, applications, case files, and very general correspondence. The accession includes some texts relating to administrative policy, for instance, policy papers, guidelines and instructions for the management of staff relations and for the preparation and submission of budgets and estimates, and the agendas and minutes for presentations and meetings.
General administration files include material and correspondence relating to office services, records management, property management including a collection of Property Administration Plan (PAP) activity sheets, material management and procurement, forms management, public access, operational reviews and plans, miniterial inquiries, and the agendas for meetings and conferences such as Managers' meetings and Implementation meetings.
Files relating to finance administration include: imprest journals, departmental Bank Accound (DBA) vouchers, contracts, repair invoices, statistics on general insurance matters, bank account reconciliation statements, requisitions for payment, budget reports, and a report on the financial status of contribution program agreements.
Files covering the area of personnel management include case files containing sick/disability/maternity leave forms, applications for social insurance numbers, unemployment insurance benefits and claims, staff relations or grievance claims, security clearance, performance appraisals, casual attendance records, course fees and name lists, salaties, rulings on insurability and labour disputes, and related correspondence.
Several files include procedural papers and forms and correspondence relating to various programs under the Canadian Job Strategy Program: Canada Mobility, Career Access, Skill Investment and Skill Shortages, Youth employment, National Job Bank, Canadian Industrial Renewal Branch, Critical Trade Skills Training, and National Employment Services System (or NESS).
