This sub-sub-series of correspondence documents the enthusiasm expressed by many Canadians when Paul Martin became the Leader of the Liberal Party of Canada in November 2003 and Prime Minister in December 2003, and again following his election victory in June 2004. The correspondence also reflects the encouragement received from Canadians and from national and international figures following the election defeat in January 2006 and Paul Martin's decision to step down as Leader of the Liberal Party.

This sub-sub-series consists mainly of letters of congratulations, as well as copies of letters and email of encouragement received following the defeat in 2006. The sub-sub-series also contains copies of form letters sent to representatives, scrutineers and volunteers for Paul Martin in the electoral district of LaSalle-Émard following the defeat in 2006.
