This accession contains a broad range of administrative and operational files from the head office and the regions, reflecting the central registry system currently in use at Parks. Files in the 1000-block cover such topics as administration and organization, associations, clubs and societies, ceremonies and celebrations, committees (including Historic Sites and Monuments Board of Canada--Historic Buildings Committee), conferences (such as the Federal-Provincial Parks Conferences), cooperation and liaison, regulations, reports and returns (including superintendents' reports), and visits and tours. Files in the 2000-block are on such subjects as buildings, fires, and roads, including one file on avalanche control. Files in the 4000-block and 6000-block cover topics such as bridges and tunnels, forestry, and pest control. There is one file in this accession in the 7000-block on mining in the Western region. Files in the 8000-block are on national parks policy, campground and picnic areas in the regions, development and planning in the lower Lake Louise area, public hearings, general surveys and studies, tourism, a file on buildings at Fort Langley, and a file on interpretation and planning at Fort Louisbourg. There are several files in the 9000-block on wildlife in the national parks.
