Accession contain the electoral maps, tables and reports resulting from the 1996 readjustment of electoral boundaries. The representation of the provinces in the House of Commons and the electoral boundaries are readjusted after each decennial census in accordance with the Constitution Act, 1867 and the Electoral Boundaries Readjustment Act.

The material is arranged by province or territory and then segregated by Federal Electoral District (FED) code. Maps are available for each FED by cell, individual polling district, and municipality. Reports and/or tables are available listing and describing advanced polling districts, ordinary polling divisions, mobile polls, polling keys by FED and municipality, First Nation and aboriginal land list, and locator tables for polling divisions and streets. Each FED has an overview map and table which gives information on map type, number, scale and dimensions for all the associated maps.
