More English Bacon. H.S. Cautley, MP, opens the municipal piggeries in London. As a crowd watches, Cautley lights a fire under a bin in order to cook pigswill. He ladles out the swill and feeds it to the pigs, which eat contentedly.~Great Police Join-Up. London policemen, in civilian clothes, march as a body through the streets on their way to volunteer for the army.~On the Italian Front. Army engineers labour to create defences against avalanches in the Italian Alps. Tracks have been laid inside a tunnel to facilitate removal of fill by means of a horse-drawn cart.~Tribute to Scottish Overseas Heroes. A commemoration service for dominion troops of Scottish origin in London. Sir Robert Borden, Canadian Prime Minister, is guest of honour at the service, which is held at St. Columba's church. Various Dominion troops enter the church, including a Canadian battalion in kilts and New Zealand wounded in hospital blues. Borden arrives in his carriage.~Shell-Torn Rheims. Footage of the destruction at Rheims, some from inside the Cathedral showing a large hole in the roof. Soldiers are seen walking by, looking at the damaged Cathedral and other buildings.~Fate of German Colonies. Members of the Imperial War Cabinet arrive at 10 Downing Street. A police officer helps the dignitaries from their cars. Most go directly into the house. W.F. Massey, Sir Joseph Ward of New Zealand, and Arthur Balfour stop for the camera. They are meeting to discuss Germany's overseas claims.~Allies in Italy. The change of guards at the British and Italian fronts. Soldiers are seen in a trench, arriving, milling about, and finally leaving after stationing one man who stands at attention.~Glorious Soldiers of France. French soldiers, in greatcoats carrying their equipment and rifles, walk past the camera. Several French officers are shown shaking hands with the soldiers.~Latest Crime of the Sinister Hun. The burial of the dead at a Canadian hospital in France after a German air raid, May 1918. Canadian soldiers pick their way through the rubble of the hospital. The coffins of those who died are taken out for burial. The captions draw attention to the large Red Cross laid out in pebbles beside the hospital. The coffins are draped with Union Flags. A clergyman in vestments gives the address and buglers sound the last post. <6mn>
