Record information – Details Fonds/collection:CARDIN, JosephAccession:1987-0275Media:FilmProduction date:1917 ?Description:Two actors are on a stage, one in a bear costume, the other playing his trainer. The audience applauds at the end of the performance and the two actors retire to their dressing room to change and pack their costumes into a trunk. The trunk is taken away to be shipped to the next location. On the way to the station, the trunk falls off the cart and into the river below. Two hobos sitting on the river bank retrieve the trunk and try the costumes on. They decide to make some money by performing for people in the area. Intercut with this story-line, a sub-plot presents a group of very rich people at a large estate. They go for a picnic which is interrupted by the arrival of a bear cub. After the picnic, part of the group returns to the verandah of the house, while the rest of the group go swimming in the nearby river. A man in this group proposes marriage to a woman. She insists any man she marries must be a hero. Then the hobos arrive at the house. <6mn 38s>Language:Silent with English intertitlesNotes:Genre:COMEDYDetailed holdings information: -
