Nova Scotia Film BureauDescription:From its birth in 1937 until they shut it down in 1976, the Wedgeport Warf in Nova Scotia played host to the International Tuna Cup Match, drawing attention from rod and reel sport fishermen from all over the globe. Participation in the three day tourney for biggest and most Bluefin caught in soldiers riff, the tidal stream an hour off the coast of the south shore, was not a task for the inexperienced. This short documentary was filmed at the peak of this phenomenon in 1960 the year the Alton B Sharpe cup was won by Mexico. Later shut down because of lack of fish in the area, while in operation this event brought a huge amount of attention to the coast of Nova Scotia. Spectators and fisherman alike were treated to the best these locals had to offer, clam and lobster bake, live music and dancing and the warmest of accommodations for their guests.Language:EnglishDetailed holdings information: -
