This film demonstrates how to take care of children. With the right parental skills, children will learn how to behave and be helpful. The film begins with a baby who cries at night. The parents get up to take care of it. Visuals illustrate the point of view of the baby in the crib, indicating what it might be looking at and what it might want. The film discusses weaning, the stages of development, a baby's curiosity at age five months, toilet training at age one, children discovering things and getting into trouble by things that they still do not fully understand, an 18-month-old child learning good and bad habits by imitating a parent. Parents who are not careful can teach fear and low self-esteem to their child. The film also provides advice on giving a child some independence without making it feel unwanted, various degrees and types of punishment and the importance of exercise and play with other children as a means of forming well-behaved and healthy children. <28mn 20s>
