Elizabeth Gray reports from Manitoba about the federal election campaign. At the same time, Manitobans living in the Red River Valley are coping with road closures and other problems due to floods. Subjects discussed include: candidates assisting people with flood clean-up and compensation claims; repeated floods and the environment as campaign issues; and how people reached out to help others during the flood. Interviewees include: a farmer named [Lyle] Baldwin; [Muriel Bugara], who is in charge of economic development for the village of St-Pierre-Jolys and the rural municipality of De Salaberry; David Iftody, a Liberal Member of Parliament; NDP candidate Judy Wasylycia-Leis; a Winnipeg property developer; a disc-jockey and part-time musician; and Guy Deschambault, a council member for the village of Ste-Anne.
