Studio documentary about the emergence of a pro-Arab lobby in Canada and its impact on Canadian foreign policy. It addresses such subjects as: Canada’s support for Israel; and efforts by Canadian parliamentarians to foster greater understanding and support for the Palestinians; Joe Clark’s decision to move the Canadian embassy to Jerusalem; Canadian business deals with Saudi Arabia; Canadian aid for Palestinian refugee camps; and the ethics of Members of Parliament and Senators travelling to the Middle East when their expenses are paid by Arab lobby groups; and Canada’s Middle East policy. Interviewees include Senator Heath McQuarrie, former Member of Parliament Ian Watson, Palestine Liberation Organization representative in Canada Abdullah Abdullah, Mid-East affairs specialist Professor John Sigler of Carleton University and Robert Stanfield, who was appointed a special ambassador from Canada to the Middle East and North Africa. <23mn 43s>
