General note:

This series consists of a collection of documents covering Canadian activities and experiences related to water management in the Gread Lakes Watershed. The records include power developments in the Great Lakes, International Joint Commission activities and references to international water management treaties with the United States.

This note is a result of a clean up of legacy records by the archivist in July 2004.

Accession RG 89, 1980-81/225, Boxes 1 to 3, was processed in 1988 and was to be assigned permanent volumes RG 89, volumes 24 and 538. Duplicates from the accession were segregated. A search of Trakker, the LAC database which tracks the physical location of boxes, indicates that neither Acc. 1980-81/225, Boxes 1-3 or RG 89, volumes 24 and 538 are in archival storage. At this time, the whereabouts of these records are unknown.

One box of RG 89, Accession No. 1980-81/225 duplicates was found in July 2004. These are duplicates of records found both in this accession and in other RG 89 permanent holdings. It appears that the duplicates were segregated, but never disposed of via a destruction memo.

As the location of the (presumably processed) originals in Accession 1980-81/225, Boxes 1-3 is unknown, the duplicates will be registered under this accession. If the original records are located, the duplicates can then be destroyed under a destruction memo. Documentation concerning this accession has been placed on file no. 9540-RG 89-80.
