This map, showing the areas of Iceland, Greenland and the fictitious island of Bus, originally appeared in Prevost: Histoire général des voyages ... Laurent, the cartographer of this map, has been variously identified: in the WLCL: Research Catalogue his first name is given as Pierre and his lifespan 1739-1809 (v. 1, p. 510) whereas in Tooley's "Dictionary of Mapmakers" his initial is given as "J" and a few of his works are then listed. (Map Collectors' Circle, v. 91).
