Biography/Administrative history:

Pootoogook, Annie, 1969-2016 : Annie Pootoogook was born in Cape Dorset in 1969. Annie's work has been exhibited in solo shows at the Illingworth Kerr Gallery in Calgary, the Power Plant in Toronto, and at Feheley Fine Arts in Toronto. She has been a participant in group exhibitions in Kassel Germany, Montreal, Toronto and Edmonton. In 2006 she was an artist-in-residence in Aberdeen Scotland. In 2006 she was the winner of the 2006 Sobey Art Award, and in 2007 she was selected as a feature artist for the 2007 Montreal Biennale. Her work is in the collections of the Art Gallery of Hamilton, the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Canadian Museum of Civilization, the MacDonald Stewart Art Centre, and the National Gallery of Canada.
