The photographs are examples of the work done by Mr. Hunter as an independent photographer from the early 1950s until the 1990s. They include work done for industry, primarily in Canada, and a large amount of stock photography done mainly for editorial work all around the globe. Aerial photography, which was one of Mr. Hunter's strengths, can be found throughout the various parts of the fonds. The fonds also includes a series of portraits from Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Northwest Territories, Manitoba, Newfoundland, Quebéc, Alberta, Yukon, and British Columbia; some of the portraits include, Moira Shearer, John Nesbit, A.Y. Jackson, and King George VI with Queen Elizabeth.
