Livestock Feed Board of Canada : The Livestock Feed Board of Canada was created under the Livestock Feed Assistance Act of 1967. A crown corporation which reported to Parliament through the Minister of Agriculture, its principle objectives were to ensure the availability of feed grain in Eastern Canada and British Columbia, the availability of adequate grain storage space in Eastern Canada, and the reasonable stability and fair equalization of feed grain prices in Eastern Canada, British Columbia, the Yukon and Northwest Territories.

In order to accomplish these goals, the Board allotted subsidies to assist in the transportation of feed grain under the Feed Freight Equalization program. It also studies feed grain requirements and advised the Minister on the availability of feed grain storage facilities and all questions related to the price of feed grain. Data on domestic feed grain prices, shipments, and markets were published by the Board. Its functions were closely related to those of the Canadian Federation of Agriculture, the Canadian Grains Council, the Board of Grain Commissioners and the Canadian Wheat Board.

The Board was dissolved on 26 November 1991 by Order-in-Council (P.C. 1991-2340). The Livestock Feed Assistance Act was amended so as to transfer the powers and duties previously assumed by the Board to the Minister of Agriculture. At that time the Livestock Feed Bureau was established within the Grains and Oilseeds Branch of Agriculture Canada.
