Image depicts three groups (drawn from separate engravings) of standing men in military costume. The men are British troops in winter uniform, from the 71st Highland Light Infantry and Royal Artillery.
Drawing is after three wood engravings which appeared in the "Illustrated London News", entitled "Highland Piper", "Officer, Sergeant, and Private of the 71st Highland Light Infantry" and "Officers and Private of the Royal Artillery". These three clippings are attached to the mount.
