Fonds consists of photographs documenting the establishment of co-operatives, which include such subjects as community life, people in training, buildings, landscapes and aerial views of remote Northern communities during the 1960s. The co-operatives provided training, education and employment for aboriginal people. The photographs include views of the Ikaluit Eskimo Cooperative Association, Frobisher Bay; the Grise Fjord Eskimo Cooperative Ltd., Grise Fjord; the Aklavik Fur Garment Co. Ltd., Aklavik; Great Whale River Co-op Association, Great Whale River; Resolute Bay Eskimo Co-op, Resolute Bay; Fort Chimo Co-op, Fort Chimo; views of various places in nothern Quebec and in British Columbia, and some photographs of individuals.
