Design (12.0 x 18.0 cm) depicts bearded man with long hair in fringed jacket ["Indian hand-made garment" (see caption)] facing to the right of image, holding up "quillwork tobacco pouch" in his hands ["a gift from the Assini-poet (-boine) Chief (see caption)] ; design number 1 ; stamp commemorates the birth of Henry Kelsey in 1670 [see caption] ; Typographic layout : 6 cents.

Note on the state of conservation:

Perforated frame and grey top matte have become detached.
