The Mission to South Africa sub-series consists of documents related to Johnson's position as Head of Mission to South Africa on Public Administration (1992-1994) and Special Advisor, CIDA/IDRC Program on Governance in South Africa (1993-1999). During these years, he was advisor to civil servants in South Africa on Constitutional Problems and on the organization of the public service. He participated in many committees and projects: the Technical Committee on Constitution, the Public Service Policy Project, the Financial and Fiscal Commission, etc. Research files include Johnson's creation of and support to the Program on Governance and the Public Service Policy Project. Documents include discussion and research papers, reports, committee and conference documents, notes, reference material, letters and photographs.
