This sub-sub-series contains files developed by the two Directors of Policy and Research, i.e. Chaviva Hosek (1993-2001) and Paul Genest (2001-2003).

The files of Chaviva Hosek are chiefly concerned with the development of Liberal Party platforms for the 1993, 1997 and 2000 general elections, while those of Paul Genest concern the major social, policy, economic and environmental issues and topics of current interest marking the period of Jean Chrétien's Liberal government.

This sub-sub-series consists mainly of correspondence, personal notes, briefing notes, memos, reports, studies, submissions to the Prime Minister's Office or other federal bodies, news releases, speeches, interview transcripts, press clippings, and copies of articles.
