Description:

In the 1950s, devastating famine and illness struck the western edge of Hudson Bay. Many Inuit perished while travelling the land hunting for food. Kujluk was a young mother at the times. Her husband and young son perished. Kujluk and the other survivors were airlifted to the community of Baker Lake, including a child named Mary Kreelak. In the summer of 2004, the elder Kujluk and Mary, now a middle-aged woman, return to their traditional lands. It is an emotional trip back to the place they hastily departed over 50 years ago before they had a chance to say goodbye to their loved ones. <24mn>
