This poster was one of the winning entries in a poster competition held in schools across Canada from 1966 to 1971 by the Canadian Forestry Association. The Department of the Environment and its predecessors, including the Department of Forestry, produced these posters for distribution as part of federal government efforts to promote forest fire prevention.
