The item consists of a "The Ritual of the Calling of an Engineer: Obligation", it was used in the ritual of becoming an engineer. Signed by H.R.Brown, the obligated engineer, and H.E.T. Haultain, the camp secretary, and dated 1May 1925. The document is presumed to have belonged to Harold Russell Brown.

Harold Russell Brown was a Toronto engineer who received the degree of Batchelor of Applied Science from the University of Toronto. He became a member of the Association of Professional Engineers of the Province of Ontario in 1926.
