The fonds consists of records pertaining to the society's activities: minutes of meetings; correspondence; financial statements; history; press release; lists of productions; biographical note on Sara Berne; advertising form; programmes; press clippings; photographs of Opera Guild Inc. board, of productions and of participating artists (autographed) including, among others, Richard Tucker, Marilyn Horne and Helen Vanni; drawing of Sarah Fischer.

Opera Guild Inc : Founded in 1942 by Pauline Donalda, the Opera Guild Inc. introduced Canadian audiences to opera and gave talented Canadian singers opportunities to gain experience. Under the guidance of professionals they could participate in productions which would help them prepare for careers at home and abroad. The society presented 29 operas over the course of 28 seasons, including several Canadian premieres. Emil Cooper conducted 19 of the Guild's productions until his untimely death in 1960. Many of the leading and supporting roles were sung by Canadian artists such as Pierrette Alarie, Maureen Forrester, Louis Quilico and Léopold Simoneau. Non-Canadian singers included Marilyn Horne and Richard Tucker among others.

Pauline Donalda's illness and her death in 1970 brought about the end of the Opera Guild Inc.'s activities. Its assets were placed in a trust fund and the interest derived distributed in bursaries to young singers and instrumentalists. The company was dissolved in 1984.
