She immigrated to Montreal after the war. In this interview she speaks about such subjects as how she began writing during the Second World War, how many people at that time felt the urge to write because of the desire to leave something behind, her participation in a literary group, the concern writers had that they did not want to minimize the suffering of the Holocaust, being Jewish, how Jewish people are treated in Canada and the United States, life in Israel, the role of suffering in the learning process and her opposition to nationalism because it stands in the way of people being more open with each other. <40mn 10s>Language:EnglishNotes:Detailed holdings information: -
