The format moves the viewer between in-studio interviews and performance segments where the authors read their work.~In this program host, Bart Cross, introduces feature guest Phlip Arima, a Toronto-based performance poet. The program begins with Arima's performance of a number of poems, and moves back and forth between in-studio interview segments and performance pieces by Arima.~Arima performs Seeing Red, The Wife Beater, Whiskey in Tears, Penny, Nickel, Dime, a Quarter, and The Cracked Train Ride. Discussion of his work focuses on the themes of addiction, life on the streets, and love and neglect that are repeated throughout his poetry, and Charles Bukowski's influence on his work. The program ends with a reading by Arima. <28mn>Language:EnglishNotes:Detailed holdings information: -
